Прослављање Светог Саве, првог Архиепископа српског, почело је са св. Литургијом у Храму Свете Петке у недељу по Богојављењу, 25. јануара 2026 године. Након службе, прослављање је настављено у просторијама парохијске дворане, где је пререзан славски колач са овогодишњим кумовима, породица Милосављевић. На крају је кумство предато новим кумовима за следећу годину, породици Хасал.

Свети Сава у парохији св. Петке се иначе слави као Крсна Слава фолклорног ансамбла Авала. После богате трпезе које су припремиле мајке из фолклорне групе, уследио је дечији програм са рецитацијама, песмом и фолклором.

По први пут деца деца из Српског културног центра у Сан Дијего су узела учешћа на Светосавској прослави у нашој парохији. Деца су извела дивну и много занимљиву представу о Светом Сави на радост свих присутни.

Народ је веселио оркестар „Дијаспора Бенд“ на опште народно весеље са музиком и игром у колу!

Овом приликом се још једном захваљујемо кумовима и вредним парохијанима из наше фолклорне групе на припреми прелепог славског сабрања.

The celebration of Saint Sava, the first Archbishop of Serbia, began in our St. Petka Chuch with the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday after the Theophany, January 25, 2026. Following liturgy, the celebration continued in the main parish hall, where the Slava kolach and wheat was blessed with this year's kumovi, the Milosavljevic family. At the end of the service, the kumstvo was handed over to next year’s kumovi, the Hasaal family.

Saint Sava in our Saint Petka parish is celebrated as the Krsna Slava of our Avala Folklore Ensemble. Following a very hearty meal prepared by the mothers from the folklore group, a children's program followed with recitations, songs and folklore dance.

For the first time, children from the Serbian Cultural Center in San Diego took part in the St. Sava celebration in our parish. The children performed a wonderful and very interesting play about Saint Sava to the delight of all present.

In the end, all were entertained by the "Diaspora Band" orchestra, which performed music and kolos were dance to late in the afternoon!

We take this opportunity to once again thank the kumovi and all the dedicated parishioners from our folklore group for preparing a beautiful Slava celebration.
